Emperor is just ...( 9 months ago by freekid247)
Emperor is just another term for a king. A ruler of a monarchy. He may have declared himself to be an emperor but its no different than a king just his attempt to presume himself better than the previous rulers and to try and aviod total colapse of the French society, but look where he ended up on an island smaller than Rhode Island.

You're right in your reasoning as to why Napolean declared himself Emperor, which is why we shouldn't be improper in our terms.

the peasants ...( 6 months ago by kingcroak)
the peasants followed the teachings of the church, but peasants were, as the the cause of most revolutions, unhappy. there living conditions and such were not affected by religeon. monks and preists, like the nobel, had higher staus above peasants, and thus had similar veiws. the rich want to stay rich and the poor wnt better conditions, but both unhappily conflict as money is not an infinate source, doh!
The third estate ...( 6 months ago by JudgeMazza)
The third estate was dominated by the bourgeoisie, with the support of the working class, or Sans-Culottes: not the peasants.
Further more the French revolution was driven by the Bourgeoisie and the San-Cullottes, with the storming of the Bastille of course...not the rural peasants..who didn't even hear of the Bastille until weeks later.
The peasants were uneducated and unenlightened...they supported the church..who in turn supported the Kings divine right of rule..with some exceptions.
