KSL 5 Eyewitness News Opener 1983.
This is the opener to KSL Channel 5 Eyewitness News in Salt Lake City, Utah circa 1983. At the time KSL TV was a CBS affiliate.. but in 1995 KUTV and KSL swapped affiliations.. So KSL is now NBC and KUTV is now CBS. Interestingly the KSL 5 logo has not changed in 20 years.

KSL is owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the Mormons). Their news tends to be very biased and often inaccurate. The Christian Scientists can do news productions which are incredibly balanced and fair. The Mormons can't. I guess it requires the ability to get a grip on reality.

Man, that was a pretty unfair post I made. I must have been having a bad day. Sorry about that. Mormons *can* do excellent journalism. KSL is owned Bonneville International, which truly is owned by the church. From Wikipedia: "Bonneville International Corporation, managed by Deseret Management Corporation, is a broadcasting company wholly owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the LDS Church)." I'm sticking by what I said about KSL News; it's awful.
