plain ol' jane... I hope one day to find something in her that draws me to her! Because i currently find her boring... but I know I'll find something
I like Jane because ... ( 5 months ago by jennybabes17)
I like Jane because she reunited Henry with Mary. She was the one who began to bring his family together. She made Mary her son's godmother and let Elizabeth attend his christening. Unfortunately she died before her work could be completed but Katherine Parr continued it for her later on. That is why these two women are admirable to me. You don't need to be intelligent or outspoken to be a great woman, you just need a good heart and I truly believe Jane had a good heart.

Jane was more intelligent that History tells us: she was clever enough to make Henry to get married to her.

My fave is Anne but I think that wearing gifts in Anne face shows that Jane has the same strengh Anne had in the past.

Certainly. The same would have happened to Jane if she would have failed.
* YOU'RE SO RIGHT!! ... ( 4 months ago by LadyPerseverance)
* YOU'RE SO RIGHT!!! * That was probably the only way she saw that she might please the King. It is proven in what has been handed down in history that she was illiterate and was only educated in domestic duties, whereas Anne Boleyn was witty, colourful, and could hold an intellectual conversation in several languages. I know who I'd want to have at my party!I'd say yes she deserved a slap and much more! While Anne lay suffering and her fate hanging in the balance she was coniving-very impure.

Perhaps she was trying to use Anne's tactics on Anne...but that card had already been played. I beleive Henry saw her for what she was, someone to make babies. And since she was uneducated and supposedly so religous,he probably assumed she would never look to another man.
Don't take Jane so ... ( 4 months ago by Princesspeach2007)
Don't take Jane so lightly. She brought down Anne and her family, she was just as intelligent as Anne if not more. She had the commonsense to back down when her life and others were in danger unlike Anne. To me, Jane was as every bit as excellent as Anne, it's a shame she died so soon.
No No No If Anne ... ( 4 months ago by justlooking213)
No No No If Anne had a son no one would know Janes name it was Annes own failure to have a son & a political shift to the Spanish side that destroyed her With jane it was right place right time nothing more & Anne wasnt just ranting about Henrys cheating until she had a son the threat of being usurped & discarded was very real Once she had a son & some security & peace of mind she wouldve let Henry have his fun & concentrated more on protecting England from Cromwell & the reformation
The fact is that ... ( 4 months ago by Princesspeach2007)
The fact is that whether either of them came into the limelight makes no difference. The change of history would still happen.

If Katherine had a son, then no one would no Anne as well. I imagine Katherine suffered much when Henry discarded her, as Anne herself went through later on.

We don't have any proof that she was conniving- perhaps she thought Anne innocent but was too afraid of Henry to speak out. It isn't fair to blame Jane for Henry's crimes against Anne. If you will look at history you will see that Anne herself was happy when Katherine died. Jane was no different when it came to that situation. It isn't her fault that she wasn't educated either.
If Katherine had a ... ( 3 months ago by justlooking213)
If Katherine had a son none of this would have happened & If you read my other posts I've never tried to downplay what Katherine went through to make Anne look good but when it comes to Jane...nothing about her sparks my interest like the other wives & Even if Henry had a son & Anne became his mistress ya know Diane de Poitiers was just a King's Mistress & she made a quite name for herself
Well, I'm glad you ... ( 3 months ago by sakiguzman)
Well, I'm glad you give Katherine consideraton, the same way you do Anne. I can only hope that you give Jane the same consideration as well. It isn't her fault that she was uneducated and submissive- who can blame her? Not every woman can be feisty like Anne. Also, feistiness was one of the things that got Anne killed- Jane was actually smart to keep quiet.
The difference ... ( 3 months ago by sakiguzman)
The difference between Diane de Poitiers and Anne Boleyn is that Henri II of France was a whole lot nicer that Henry VIII of England- Diane was Henri IIs mistress for most of his life, and she enjoyed a lot of privileges. Anne was privileged too, but had she remained a mistress, Henry VIII would've gotten bored and replaced her too. He had a number of mistresses...
Its true Anne ... ( 3 months ago by justlooking213)
Its true Anne wouldnt have lasted as long as De Pottiers but maybe she couldve found a way into the history books just the same & Ive tried with Jane & the only thing I find interesting is her personal struggle being a devout Catholic during the Reformation

I totally agree to blame Jane for Henry actions!! Just like it isn't fair to blame the deaths of Cardinal Fisher and Thomas More, and several others who didn't sign the oath.. at the hands of the Boleyns!!

Yeah, Jane was a Catholic. She didnt have premarital sex with the King! They waited until they were married. Jane was very modest and virtous so i doubt she would have had sex with him until after they married, and Henry respected her for this. By the time they were married, both of the other wives were dead, so it couldnt even be said that they had sex when they weren't legally married.
