They should bring back Mike Engel and make her his co-host news anchor. Forget the whole photographer thing Tim Burton made up and she could date Bruce Wayne, but no need for her to discover his secret identity. Wayne learned his lesson with Rachels death and will never fully commit himself to anyone except the holy mission although Batman may recruit her if shes up to the task. Vicki Vale and Mike Engel could cover the hunt for Batman, Janice Porter helping the Joker escape the death penalty, Bruce Waynes shenanigans, the Harvey Dent museum and library, and the transformation of the Gotham mob into the freak element. They should mirror her character with that of Jane Fondas from movie called The China Syndrome. This character has a lot of potential to be fully realized as heroine of Gotham City exposing the truth at any means necessary and not as the slut Kim Basinger portrayed her as in the 1989 film. She only slept with Bruce Wayne to get the scoop. Lastly, having her and Jancie Porter in a catfight would be the icing on the cake! If done right, whoever plays Vicki Vale could go down in history as the best female lead in the Batman film franchise. Just don't cast another Katie Holmes. Sarah Polley would be another Maggie Gyllenhaal.
