I agree, This is not the real deal, you can see for they way to enter to a room, the first man always have to aim to they right and live clear the frontal sight to the second man, and of course you never enter with you head first like this guy do.

Certainly not an expert but I thought Russia's weapons were more modern. I swear I saw para AKM rifles in there and only a few 74s. Where were the AK-74SUs? I would almost speculate that with the age of some of the weapons here that this was a secondary unit and not SF. Of course I'm open to correction. My presumptions could certainly be wrong.

ak74su is not as good in cqb as for example 74 para.
74su is overheated shortly and due to its calibre has great ricochet. Thats why it is realy used. More often as a militias patrol arm.

Yes, SMGs would be the weapon of choice but these guys are 'normal' Russian Infantry. Do the best with what you've got. Still a formidable bunch of men. Had I gone to war against Russia when I was in...I'd have made sure I never fell asleep on sentry!!!!

Honestly, whats the freaking big deal whether they are using an SMG version of the AK74?
Yes it is not "normal" but heck, the criminals in russia arent normal neither so big deal if they use an rifle instead of an SMG, atleast they can deal with the cons of using an rifle in an CQC situation which others clearly cannot in my opinion

You know that he's right, in a way. It's not an SMG, but it closes the gap between SMG and rifle. What you're talking about is the AKS-74u. The S stands for folding stock, but the u stands for the Russian word for "shortened". It's a shortened AK-74 with a folding stock, which makes it as compact as any SMG, but retains the performance of a rifle. A collapsible carbine, pretty much.

They aren't normal Russian infantry though. They have Normal Troops then theres Spetsnaz which is 30 thousand strong (or 41 Companies) which their normal troops dwarf that with nearly 5 to 10 times as much. spetsnaz are still considered special forces because their training is much more difficult (with a 'wash out' rate at 55% because it is highly brutal compared to american standards.)

in special units you often wear what is comfortable to the individual as to not look like a regular army unit. you can blend with society and yes societies have people running aorund in camoflage.

they do have a smg but it isnt as good its very un accurate but it has a vary high rate of fire
