Tom T is a true legend and so was Mr. Cash, I too grew up listening...not by choice,... to Tom T Hall but i soon grew to love him, and in 2004 I was lucky enough to meet the man himself at his home and he showed me the field where he mowed his hay and his pond with ducks on. A really great guy, fantastic writer and performer, much underated I think.

thanks for this. Ironically, I had a similar experience with Hank Snow. Hated "cowboy" music as a kid - heard it all the time. Now a huge fan of HS - and many others. Tom T remains a firm favourite.

I love this stuff! I used to listen to my mom's old cassette tapes in the car on family road trips. All my cousins would groan when it was my turn to pick what tape we would listen to, because it was always him, and they got tired of it, but not me! Tom was my grandmothers cousin. (Annie Hall) My mom and I were talking about them the other day, and she said that my grandmother always told her a story about Tom and her riding in the back of someone's car when they were little and she fell asleep with her head on his lap. She said he was really nice to her. :) I wish she was alive now to watch these videos with me.
