and trust me the AKC registration now ranks german shepherd the 2nd most popular breed. golden retriever 3rd and idk the rest.. but labrador is 1st.

I wasnt necessarily promoting docking, just saying that I think my rott-n-kids nub is cute, its one of the characteristics of the rott I like is all... And, I noticed alot of these posts have rotts with tails, was just noticing the new trend is all. BTW, Polar's balance is perfect :-)

A dogs tail gives it a better sense of balance! they should be left on really for the benefit of good exercise, jumping, hurdling, swimming ect. My dogs tail was docked and i reckon hes clumsy at times.

Rotties & other working/herding breeds have their tails docked for health & safety reasons. Those rotts & working/herding breeds have it done so if the tail were stepped on dring moving large lifestock they (tails)would not be SKINNED & also so the feces/crud wouldnt cake itself on their tails & cause infection therefore having to dock it in the end & be extreamly painful then having it banded/docked when a pup. I have a rottie with a tail but he does not herd/move lifestock.
