Your history's obviously flawed, the Saxons had long been ousted from the English throne by the Normans by this point in history. Furthermore, Scotland would've done what England did had it been in a position to. It's not a case of good and bad, right and wrong, it's a case of one side being better at war and expansion. Scotland tried it, and was happy to indulge in it after the act of the Union when the British Empire came to be. How's that for Imperialism? Did it suddenly become ok then?
