The uprising that began in Lhasa is now reported to have killed at least 10 people. China has poured military onto the streets of the Tibetan capital and more details are starting to emerge about the situation. Al Jazeera's Dorsa Jabaari pieces together the story so far.

Tibet,HALF THE SIZE OF EUROPE ,was poor, and ruled by a backward Theocracy. No wonder why Chinese took advantage of the chance to forcefully take over.All the natural resources to freely make their own & expand. If Chinese Colonialism is justified then British take over of India, and Japanese take over of Korea and China when they were weak, could be justified. Your intelligence is staggeringly small. Look into Aljazeera's history, and you will understand the why and what of their reporting. I'm an American, actually worked in information operations in Iraq. That's part of why Aljazeera is always a part of my news diet. Their approach to capturing the news is simply to tell and show everything and hold nothing back. Of all news sources, they are, in my opinion, the least slanted. Frankly, I like it.

Qing is Manchu empire, not chinese. Manchu(Qing) just conqured China(Ming) like Mongol did.
Manchu are not chinese. Manchu language is radically different from Chinese, and they used Manchu letters. Yuan is a Mongolian country, likewise, Qing is a Manchu country. China was just governed by Mongol and Manchu empires. So, Tibet had never been part of China until China invaded Tibet in 195
0s. China should stop distoring history to justify occupation on Tibet.

tibet clearly is a nation in context of the law of nations, because they have their own region were they lived for ages, they have their own culture and language.
in context of the human rights declaration china is committing tremendous crimes like ignoring the freedom of religion and habeas corpus.
e.g. in the period from 1965 - 66 (the offical start of cultural revolution) 1.2 million tibeteans got killed for being monks and nuns or because they supported their religious leader.

tibet was part of china the last 700 years but it was a very autonomus region untill 1900 without ethnic, cultural or economic influences by the han-chinese people.
before this period of 700 years protectorate, china was even part of tibet, this may sound unrealistic but they were conjoint close together within the mongolian empire.
in fact the 13th dalai lama (the one before tenzin gyatso) proclaimed the free state of tibet around 1910 but not one country did affirm this proclamation.
