All Top of The Pops ...( 1 year ago by Bushdoctorx)
All Top of The Pops performances were mimed in those days...the producers didnt think that bands could reproduce the record quality if they performed live...they obviously hadn't seen Robert and the boys live...also i'm sure if they had the technology to broadcast a live sound...not to a transmitable standard anyway.
Check out Siouxsie ...( 1 year ago by lette7)
Check out Siouxsie & the Banshees "Dear Prudence" performance (TOTP) here on YouTube. Robert's guitar playing (or lack of it) is hilarous. If anyone didn't know these were prerecorded they would definitely know after viewing this clip.

I love that they didn't bother to plug their instruments in. Comic genius. Apparently they dressed their instruments in clothes one time on TOTP in protest of the mime thing?

huh? Here's Rolling Stones top 10 songs of all time:
Like a Rolling Stone: Bob Dylan
(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction: Rolling Stones
Imagine: John Lennon
What's Going On: Marvin Gaye
Respect: Aretha Franklin
Good Vibrations: The Beach Boys
Johnny B. Goode: Chuck Berry
Hey Jude: The Beatles
Smells Like Teen Spirit: Nirvana
What'd I Say: Ray Charles
The Primary is no where on this list, and IMO these are way more impactful for their time than the Primary was. You're the Liar.

Oh cunt off pissface.
Take a long hard look at the mediocre list that is supposed to be the top ten songs of all time.
How about you have a nice cup of tea and FUCK OFF to bed.Its 7.30 and way past your bed time.

Don't go all emo on me. I'm capable of having a challenging open discussion, are you? Let's leave the childish immature remarks out of this discussion, as they serve no purpose other than to make you look stupid.
You set the criteria when you said "for it's time." All I did was point out timeless classics using a reliable source. Your defense or couter arguement is merely an emotional rant. The Primary is a great song, and I love it, but it's place in Rock history is barely note worthy.

I'd be surprised if there'd be the cure and robert smith as we know them if it wasn't for at least one or two artists on that list. And as for "mediocre", if ray or aretha are, then who isn't?
