You can actually find the video in which he says they should not be banned. No one appreciates a liar, especially a lazy liar. Negative one.
From Wiki on WFB: ... ( 6 months ago by Sentinel4truth)
From Wiki on WFB: "Half a year ago my wife died, technically from an infection, but manifestly, at least in part, from a body weakened by 60 years of nonstop smoking. I stayed off the cigarettes but went to the idiocy of cigars inhaled, and suffer now from emphysema, which seems determined to outpace heart disease as a human killer. Stick me in a confessional and ask the question: Sir, if you had the authority, would you forbid smoking in America? You'd get a solemn and contrite, Yes."

Lies of ... ( 5 months ago by richter75)
Lies of conservative propaganda? I can read much out of such a statement. Even the truth can have propaganda, that dont say much though. The worlds hunger is in tyrannies, if you give them food you prolong their suffering, if u give them the freedom they deserve they can make their own future. War NOT peace is the answer.
No, there are ... ( 5 months ago by nonameposter)
No, there are democracys where people do not have enough to eat. Best example: india
Or think about the revolts of the women in Agypt: 8%economy growth but the poor get poorer and the prizes for bread and esp. meat rises. The war should not only be declared to dictatorships but also against exporation itself. (btw. why are dictatorships like saudi arabia, columbia and Co. supported by EU+USA? yes -> money)

I would have hoped ... ( 5 months ago by whiskypriest)
I would have hoped for some indication that the praise tendered here to the late pundit and cheerleader for capital, William F. Buckley, Jr. was somehow ironic or satirical. No dice. I will say, however, that the impression of Buckley (I am aghast that the commentary doesn't recognize it) is positively remarkable. Well done on the mimetic front; though perhaps I would suggest looking for other masters: masters otherwise than scoundrels.

"I would have hoped for some indication...that the praise...was somehow ironic or satirical." How is it that most Americans are so oblivious and uncomprehending of satire, that they need a signpost telling them that the material is not to be taken seriously? It is obvious to anyone with half a brain that this is a comedy impression - why would we need an indication of this?

People in India ... ( 3 months ago by jp2007ms)
People in India don't have enough to eat because for the first 44 years of our independence, we were a socialist country, in 1991 our economic liberalization took place under Rajiv gandhi & Manmohan Singh. Also, the British completely FUCKED our country inside out. If India is growing right now, it is because of the free market.
I think the ... ( 1 month ago by justridingatrend)
I think the venerable impressionist merely has many internal characters who indeed inform who he is, and that his various characters are honest portrayals of those aspects, with no distortion or exaggeration. The product of such honesty is often called...what's the word I'm looking for... Humor?

His son Christopher ... ( 2 weeks ago by melora72)
His son Christopher came out in support of Obama. He announced his support for Obama on his personal webpage or blog. He lost his job writing a column for the National Review, the magazine his father started.
I suspect William F Buckley might have supported Obama. I saw him speak back in the 1980's. He had views that differed from standard Republicans. For example, he believed that drugs (or at least pot) should be decriminalized because it costs more to enforce the laws than it's worth.
Right... Thats why ... ( 1 week ago by mzhwhezcy)
Right... Thats why William F. Buckley denounced the integration of Black Americans in the 60's. William F. Buckley would not have voted for Obama because 1. Obama is defined as politically diametric to most conservatives 2. Buckley was a morally repugnant racist who once called Black Americans monkeys. This is obvious; This is the reason why this impersonation is ironic and funny. Get your facts straight. Oh and Noam Chomsky owned Buckley in that famous debate.
