he has a fantastic technic i have to admit. but he really doesn't put in much emotion in his plying. he can potray every note clearly but he is lacking in terms of musicianship. other than that, his technic is exellent and is a wonderful pianist
His fingers Truly ... ( 9 months ago by cyphontiller)
His fingers Truly float of over the keys. What i don't understand is: what do you mean with Musicianship? There r musicians that "headbang" over their keys as if they are trying to dance (i don't like that, its like shooting a rabbit with Bazooka). Do you mean somehing like that? Or do you mean the "tint", the details in the music diminuendo, forte ... all of that?
If you are talking ... ( 9 months ago by cyphontiller)
If you are talking about that i disagree he does a fabulous job bringing the piece alive, it doesn't need all that chitchat, headbanging and theatral blabber around it.
he doesnt PERFORM ... ( 9 months ago by goodridgewinners)
he doesnt PERFORM as such. he just plays. I guess, we will never know whether he actually feels emotion when he plays. if he does, maybe he jsut portrays it differently. Try listening to him. without watching.
just yes, i agree that watching him isnt exciting at all except for his fingers.
Well actually, i ... ( 9 months ago by ccen1)
Well actually, i can't say that i can agree with you very much. usually the pianists that tend to move alot when they play, are thought to give the piece more feeling. people such as Hamelin sit still and play just as good however when you see spmeone move it looks like they know what they're doing even more.
TRY listening to him and imagin a pianist

....that you like and realise that there is not much difference. (but ofcourse there is still a difference)
i like the ... ( 8 months ago by ibclappin)
i like the simplicity of this performance. a lot of time the music is changed because the pianist tries to present his/her own "touch" with it. fiddling with the music is sometimes called "showing emotion" by some people.
I think Hamelin ... ( 8 months ago by jimtim0912)
I think Hamelin changes it a bit at around 8:00, or am I wrong?
I really think Lang ... ( 8 months ago by kmjaemo)
I really think Lang Lang is an amazing pianist. I saw him live at the Walt Disney Hall and God knows that I am never satisfied: I have never ever clapped loudly at a performance before, because being a music major makes me an extremely picky person. However, when I heard Lang Lang, I nearly cried, jumped out of my seat, and clapped loudly, like everyone else. Lang Lang is emotional, no doubt. Hamelin is amazing too: he emotionalizes this without much motion. Lang Lang and Hamelin both are great.
Lang Lang is good ... ( 7 months ago by Haeronthegreat)
Lang Lang is good in one or two pieces (see the Traumerei and Db Major nocturne here). Apart from that, I think he's terrible.

i'm not attacking anybody...
there's a difference in terms of technic between Hamelin and Lang. Hamelin is supreme in terms of technic, maybe even better than berezovsky in some area.. Lang2 is much help by his expression while playing (which i presonally don't like)... Haeronthegreat is right
no your right he ... ( 7 months ago by innerswedish)
no your right he does change it. it's written as repeating 16th notes with the right hand.
I would not say ... ( 6 months ago by Haeronthegreat)
I would not say Lang is better than Berezovsky technically. Berezovsky has better clarity in technical passages, as well as a more refined take on things.
I think what you ... ( 6 months ago by paolohudson)
I think what you mean is that he is an excellent musician and plays wonderfully, but isn't a great "performer".
Yup exactly :) but ... ( 6 months ago by cyphontiller)
Yup exactly :) but when i go to a concert like this i go for the music not for the performance. if i wanne see performance i go to a circus...
