You couldn't begin to imagine the life Jesse James lived, he was a guerrilla/rebel in his teens. Believe it or not, I believe he did in fact turn to banditry as a way to continue his rebellion against the post war Union government.
He isn't just some gangbanger from the streets of Compton, or Detroit, he was a hardened veteran of guerrilla warfare during the civil war, it's all he knew. His targets were pro-Union Missourians.
