i love how people are so quick to judge the acting in the movie. you know, not the message, which is the point! the acting was great in my opinion, not to mention it was done by volunteers. just like "Fireproof." both great movies with great meaning. with Jesus, anything is possible. and with that said, i hope he helps you realize that.

I am a Christian, yes, and I don't object to movies having a spiritual message as long as they earn it truthfully, but Facing the Giants has no values whatsoever with reality. Alex Kendrick clearly has no idea how to write or direct mov ies in any fashion and his actors don't bring any emotion into the characters either. ...difficult than you might think it is. God is always there for you when you need him, but he won't come down to you like a genie in a bottle. I have not yet seen a movie that stays true to one's faith without having to use any ancient Hollywood cliche to deliver the message across. ...aclaim somewhat, but it doesn't have the potential of being in the same boat as other independant films. I'm sure Kendrick means well but he should have gotten some help with making the movie. Because this is his second feature he might have better experience next time. Now that's something he could ask God to guide him with, not just for the predictability of it.

and it does have values toward life cuz its based of a true storie so how that dosent connect to life is your opion but it does and i am not trying to be rude like some people but i am just saying that this is the best Christian movie i have ever seen and also it was made by a church in Geogia. and if you are a Christian than you should know that God is allways there he doesnt have to come down like a Genie in a bottle....

I do empathize with you and all the other Christians that liked the movie, but I couldn't see the message without thinking about all the Hollywood nonsense that influences moviemaking. It's hard for me as a result for becoming an aspiring film critic.

This movie encouraged me to quit smoking. It was awesome. My favorite thing about this movie is that God does open and close doors that He wants to, and if we place our trust in Him, set our own wants aside, and when we ask Him for help, prepare for rain, we will receive it. And even if we dont get what we ask, we Praise Him! Cause He deserves it! ;)
