Like, if your pulse studdenly gets high, then they assume that you're lieing.
So, maybe by the absurdenty(i don't think i spelled it right XP) of the question, it began to make his heart race, causing it to come up as a lie.

That is why Lie Detectors Don't ever hold up in court. They are used in Courts for the sole purpose of weather someone refuses or accepts to take one. And even then, its used as fuel, but not solid evidence.

lie detectors can still make mistakes. But thats not why people watch this. I wonder how they come up with the questions that is asked at the lie detector. I know there are 50 questions and 21 are chosen but how do THOSE 50 questions come about. Because they seem to be personalised. They arent your average dodgy questions they are too specific to contestants.
