yea jimi is amazing but this is a pretty bad recording if you were at the concert i'm sure it sounded way different than hendrix's stuff, they're both amazing.

no seriousely i have a ten watt i turn up volume tone and gain to ten plus its fallen off of so mant tables and things thats it wil just make my notes screech just like eddie thats what i use when im playing eruption instead of my marshall amp my camera man's camera is in chicago right now and my camera doesnt shoot video when he is back ill post a video of me playing eruption and you can see it for yourself

Ed used a Marshall Plexi. The amp is very transparent. Meaning, it lets the individual player through. This live recording is very raw and it's kinda cool cuz you can hear what that tone actually sounded like before Ted Templeton got a hold of it and put the sugar on top in the studio. Very twangy. Ted really smoothed out all that high end in post production. It also sounds like Ed used to wire his humbuckers in parallel. But the harmonics are him, not the amp.

I love...or should say loved Ed, when he would just play. I know what you mean here, though. For one, he's completely drunk. Probably did some blow before the show, too. That kind of thing tends to wreck a performance. The first VH album was incredible for style, tone and performance. However, this is quite unrefined compared to that. Goes to show you what a good producer can do. Having said that, Ed is still and icon. I just wish he would get healthy and stay on the wagon.
