It can mean anything to anybody - but the essential meaning is that things do change and life is short. At a deeper level, the video suggests breaking up - deep thoughts maybe teh passing of an era. Many soloists use this song at functions like end of year concerts. Like all good art, it is not glaringly obvious, just let yourself melt into teh music and lyrics.
