This is such a sad song. And it is SO true. No one actually DID realise the full extent of Vincent Van Gogh's brilliance and talent. They all just saw him as a deranged maniac, not as someone with a beautiful mind as well!

Don McClean is a great artist and I really do like Josh Groban - This song abd Groban's style don't seem to work for me - There are alot of tunes that aren't right for - There are many that he would sing better than anyone in the world - Starry Niight is not one of those songs

I quite like this performance, think Groban does fine stylistically, and brings the song out in a way certainly different than Don McClean's wonderful original, but not less powerfully or appropriately. Cabinator, could you perhaps name some specifics of what doesn't work for you in this song? Perhaps you're able to hear things I'm not yet attuned to.
