Oh yeah, of course! EN has a modest, cultish fanbase in the US. I was introduced to them by a friend sometime in the mid-80s whilst in the throes of a punk rock identity. After I heard them I realized, THIS is punker then punk; its transgressive art music that transcends all laws and barriers. I have all of their discs from the 80s and I bought them right here in the U.S. Pretty much all of the US releases feature both the original German lyrics and English translation.

I am an American woman with an obsession with Einst
ürzende Neubauten, probably to an unhealthy degree! I had never heard of them until a German friend introduced me to them about a year ago. It is fantastic that most of their CD's, and even DVD's are available to buy over the internet, and that their website has nearly all of their lyrics also conv
erted into excellent English translations. Wunderbar, as my Deutsch has a long way to go! Yes ... amazingly not all Amis are musically clueless! ;)

I am also an American fan of Einsturzende Neubauten; they have been one of my favorite band for a long time! Its always good to make contact with other fans, whether they are from the U.S. or elsewhere!

Very much so ... they have toured here extensively ... ( i saw them in chicago ten years ago and in austin tx. about two years ago ) This is a global economy ... capitalism knows no borders ! ( i'm being ironic )

well then if you don't know all this already, you should check out "the birthday party", an australian band with similar moods. Blixa joined them towards the end of their career, produced their last album and started the bad seeds with the singer, nick cave.

But when you think about it, EN DO look very "normal", with the exception of Blixa back in the day. Oftentimes, the most amazing and unusual music is created by the most ordinary and rather bland looking people.
