anyway, madarin is not a very easy language, i speak fluent cantonese(a chinese dialect) and although it sounded similar to mandarin, im still couldnt manage to pronounce some of the words, but generally im still able to communicate with it

im a swing voter (eg who ever has the best sell ill vote for) my grandfather was a labor backbencher 62-81 never served front bench though and he hates rudd for theses reasons - we signed Kyoto, australian exports have gone down 4.2% since the election (doesn't seem like alot but thats billions) the defence budget has been cut 35% we had 3 aircraft carriers to have the F-35Bs, then to cut cost re-designated as amphibious assault ships then LCDs (all were to be built here) cost 800m to us.

sorry for 2 replies mate but it was cause by then end of this year libs wanted all troops back home (6 months later then labor and i do thing iraq = shit) and focused the defence budget on defence from navy and RAAF, labor have dismissed it. Also in my industry as a commercial pilot (charter not airline) i pay 60% more union fees and a massive increase on lincence renewals. as i said i voted labor and now its affected my life negitivly. unions rule labor

Labor has always cut defence spending. As someone who left the army last year after 10 years, I was under no illusions on what Labor would do if they got in, and to be honest, I don't blame them. Libs spent a fortune on defence, and to no purpose. So I don't see defence spending as a big issue, from someone who used to do it.

Rudd has gotten us out of Iraq, which is a good thing (and means we don't need to spend as much on defence)... Union fees have gone up in some industries, but I'd still prefer that over 'workchoices'. Rudd has screwed the pooch on some things, alcopop tax is pretty pointless in stopping binge drinking, though funny seeing bogans whinge now they have to figure out how to mix their own.
I'm still failing how he's 'screwed the country', or even began to head that way
