This is all true, but the chances are quite small. This probably the reason that kids who get the shots often have some light GI distress for a few hours or a day. Any antibody produced by your body, including those induced via a vaccine, can also cause autoimmune problems. My point is that there are risks against the integrity of your body that the body itself takes as well.

Fact: Genetic diseases will often have no previous family member affected. There may be a genetic predisposition (keyword)to autism, but perhaps not. In the case of the autistic girl whose autism was attributed to the vaccine, genetics were the sole route. A lifetime of tuna salad would have had the same effect. Are you a doctor? Do you have formal training in medical neuroscience, clinically and in the classroom? I respect a different opinion, but what I hate about the internet is that it's the main spread of disinformation today. Myths get propagated so fast, now. I understand if you want something/someone to blame if you have an autistic child. This is a simple coping strategy, that can be useful!...for awhile. Eventually people will need to shift the strategy and move on for their own health.

Even totally disregarding Autism, since WHEN is putting mercury in the body (even as a preservative of vaccines) an aid in any health benefit? That's what I want to know. You tell me. Last thing I heard mercury is a heavy metal poison, the variation in vaccines stays in the brain longer, and generally lingers in the body more in comparison to the type of mercury documented on the EPA's website (w/ studies done in monkeys), which could be more damaging.

Musicforanna, lets stick to the argument. I am saying that the statement above mine is wrong. Blame is a coping strategy; It is away of people finding "answers" at an early stage. But this is said and done. Instead of crusading against vaccines, which are not going to disappear, we need to focus our attention on helping the lives of autistic children. Mercury is a toxin. This is well established. The merc in vaccines was supposed to be below the threshold dose to cause a neurological lesion. Histology from autistic patients tells us that it is likely a developmental disorder that (in the cases we've seen) most likely began before the child was born. Based on the slides, we don't see what would appear to be an "acute" tox. Thimerosal would stay in the brain a shorter amount of time than traditional mercury, but stay longer in liver/kidneys.

the mercury in vaccines is more dangerous than methylmercury (proven in several studies), and methyl mercury is what the EPA standards are based upon. Even still, the standards are also based upon an adult, not a newborn child. One shot by itself may also be under the EPA limit, but also tell that to the inexperienced brainless person giving those little kids shot on top of shot after shot in the same day like they always do these days to fit the shot schedule. I am sticking to the argument. I'm not "crusading against vaccines" themselves. I'm against what they use as a preservative in many of them. Way to assume. But of course, you could always look up scientific articles. There are many that validate what I (and many others) have been saying. Yes, those with autism need the help, but-- the numbers of kids affected are rising-- something needs to be done about that since it keeps being pushed under the rug to begin with.

Hello. I'm not saying that you're wrong, but you have a chicken and egg situation here. Autism is associated with GI problems. This is nothing new to us, so showing us an autistic child with GI issues is like showing me a camry and saying toyota. Just because the vaccine is "present in his bowels" doesn't mean the vaccine necessarily caused anything. The vaccine may be there, as you indicate, because the GI problem pre-existed. OK conspiracy nuts... this is one of today's headlines on MEDPAGETODAY (a widely read doctor's website)-- "Flu Shot Benefits for Elderly Questioned". It doesn't look to me like researchers are hiding anything about vaccines-- if someone finds something real they can publish it, like the authors did, and expose it. That's how science works.
