I believe it is about the general isolation man feels within a capitalistic/maertialistic world where personality is strictly regulated and emotionless products convey our sense of self, our identification with social hierarchy. "He sees everything and nothing at all" to me means, that he (the majority of us) sees the everyday charades adapted through advocated behaviour, and therefore we are systematic people, quite apathetic, and loosing touch with genuine compassion.

lol maybe you are not capable of going beyond an assumed meaning, perhaps genesis is not either, after all, I'm sure the songs are written for the general intelligence of the majority, which is highly lacking. Yes, this is a great live version. It was captured during their Abacab tour at the Savoy Theatre in NY in 1981. Their official archive 2 boxset lists this as being captured from the Savoy.
