The modern story of Penelope and Ulysses ... It's on Judy's Elektra's first album. Comparison with Joan Baez's version is very interesting.
I love this song sang by Judy. It is even better than on the record !
Great thanks !

I was already a Joan Baez fan when I heard Judy's first album -- found there's room in our hearts for all great singers. Judy will always be one of my favorites.

I agree ! The folk Divas are often overlooked by VH1 etc. I love Joan, Judy, Buffy, Odetta,
Mary T, Barbra Dane, Carolyn Hester, Judith Durham and more. Collins and Baez are like Ella and Sarah, Mahalia and Marion, Aretha and Patty, Dolly and Tammy etc. We all have are favs but soooo many are great.

I agree with taddy1, especially as regards Joan, Judy & Odetta. I could wish that this video were of better technical quality. But I'm glad it's there.

Fantastic. Judy Collins is surely the greatest female folk singer. Only Joni Mitchell and Sandy Denny come anywhere close.

YES, YES, YES, thank you for posting this. I saw her in a concert at Town Hall in Philadelphia as she, plus the Brandywine Singers were the two opening acts for the Christy Minstrals. I became an instant fan and caught her about three years later in concert as she was THE solo act. I had to beg a friend of mine to go with me to it (because he had never heard of her). He became an instant fan. I was her biggest fan until she followed Dylan and went electric. She was a pure folk singer.

Ah yes then there's Joan Baez--check her version of this song done years before this--not to mention Karen Dalton.
Mary T, Barbra Dane, Carolyn Hester, Judith Durham and more. Collins and Baez are like Ella and Sarah, Mahalia and Marion, Aretha and Patty, Dolly and Tammy etc. We all have are favs but soooo many are great.
