Can anyone tell me if this will consume less energy than a flash drive? By replacing the hard drive in my old iPod (and an updated battery) with a larger capacity Flash drive, I get more run time due to not wasting energy on the oving parts.
The claim is also that this is cheaper to impliment, so this looks like a pretty hot technology. But again, what about energy consumption, and as a follow up, heat generation?

ibm has crappy computers but their other products r pretty good. the price of flash memory is outrageous. i am waiting to get my next computer when the price goes down and i will install a flash (or ibm's new 1) 2 it (if it already isnt a standard by then)
