well... no. a high saving rate means noone is gonna take loans. like in 1929. banks don't realy need ppl's money to give loans. they can lend you money without having much of a deposit layed.

Banks who lend money to people without much of a deposit are stupid. That's why you have a credit crisis in the US threatening the world economy right now. And after the debacle we are seeing in the US, Banks are going to back to the old fashion way of asking people for a bigger deposit - unless they want to end up like Bear Stearns or Northern Rock or Citigroup etc..

hmmm... sorry to get you back on the floor, but im not from the US. i'm from some tiny country in europe. beside that, every bank works that way. they "lend" money in a rate from 10-50:1 to the amount people have as deposits. thats nothing only some banks do. all work that way. yours (i suppose your from there) in china also do.

pork has gone up in price 56%. most of that pork is imported from brazil. look for more world food prices to go up in cost becuase food is imported from other countries. All imported food(and everything else) goes up when oil prices skyrocket.
This is only the start of what is to come. Food prices have have gone up in the usa too, did you know that? you are now getting less food for the same price!

hahaha yeah... but compare their income to korea... they're also much lower. given PPP (purchasing power of parity), i think the price hike is probably doing some considerable damage to the laobaoxing (common people). i mean, with stables going up by 30% and income staying exactly the same... it's ought to be damaging, no matter where you live in.
