I make this video is for my Yahoo! 360 Blog, My favourite music, My music world ... A tribute to David Gates ...
This song was writen by Gates as a solo artist, appeared in his LP "Goodbye Girl" from the 1977 film of the same name. At that time, Bread have been disbanded, but Botts and Knechtel from Bread continued to record and tour with Gates. On one tour they were billed as "David Gates & Bread".

Hey, thanks for posting this! I used to like this song as a kid, but I never hear it on the radio anymore. Good background beat. I've requested this from the radio before, but all I get from the DJ's is "never heard of it". Sad--all pop/rock radio seems to play nowadays is the same 35-40 songs from the 60s to the present.

For some fortuitous reason, I had stayed for a month in Europe that summer. As a teenager, I had a blast to say the least, and that song for some reason, inside the immature mind of an adolescent, kinda' gave open rein to never lived nor fulfilled fantasies. LOL.

Thank you for posting this wonderful song. I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma where David Gates grew up. My mom went to school with him but did not know him well. It is amazing the talent he has and wondering what he is doing now? Is this song about what happened to him in SanTropez? Does anyone know? Anyway thank you for the song.
