If I were you, I would avoid doing Aida. It in no way what so ever compares with Into the Woods.

Chip is awsome but the vibrato on his very last note is a little bit excessive in my opinion. It's almost to the point where you cannot even hear the true pitch anymore. Was this from Broadway?

I saw this on Broadway in revival with Denise Williams...she was stunning...love her on Ugly Betty but I digress...it was a spellbinding production. But it is this song...so quiet and simple and the lyrics just move me to examine myself. Sondheim is the King of Broadway. Please Stephen, pump out a few more miracles of the stage and eye and ear and heart before you leave us. But...Oh what music you will give us on the otherside...Bach will have met his match!

Into the Woods as always been my favorite musical. Though not the most dramatic or musically trying, I always thought this song was the most wrenching and gripping of all the Into the woods songs. Or maybe its just like that with Chip Zien. :)

I agree. No One is Alone is really the emotional climax of the play, but this song is so much more personal and tragic. It's always been one of my favorite Sondheim pieces.

The man playing the baker reminds me of my 7th grade English teacher for some reason. I think it's the curly black hair, and the faces look a little alike.

Wow, I can't believe that the Narrator is also the Mysterious Man... That's insane, I NEVER would have guessed. Aldredge is a good actor.

I completely agree with you. I love "Moments in the Woods" and "No One Is Alone", but I love this song because within these 5 minutes, the Baker comes to forgive his father and realizes that he's doing the same thing his father did, but unlike his dad, he's getting guidance and being told to face his responsibilities.
Every time I see this, all I can think is "thank you, Stephen Sondheim".
