Beautiful touch, and technique. There is too much rubato, and the piece does not sound like a mazurka. The rhythm is totally wrong.

Oh really? Yeah, jeez, I almost forgot how much more you know about Chopin than Blechacz and everyone in the YouTube community. Forgive me.
I love rubato, some don't. It's part of the interpretation and that means it's totally subjective. It just needs to have some sort of musical reasoning backing it up and I'm sure Blechacz does. However, I can't comment on the rhythm as I don't know the piece too well.

Guys, chill out. Stephen has a point. I dont even think he was insinuating that he didnt like the interpretation, he was just saying something that was technically accurate. A mazurka is supposed to be a dance in 3/4.

then why chopin's mazurka playing sounded like 2/4? (according to the quote from the book 'great pianists' -schoenberg)

Actually I can say something about this interpretation, and at least almost all of Chopin's interpretations by Blechacz. He has taken a side with all the pieces, the classical side. Rather then being subjective and emotional about them, he looks at them more rationally, which is, in my opinion, a more direct offering of what Chopin would have played. Although mazurka is a very hard word to define.. (i know it also encompases the meaning of a Polish dance) I think Blechacz is very close to a true

dear Proko, also valzer and minuetto are dances in 3/4... But Mazurek, Oberek and Kujawiak (the ones we are listening to by Chopin) comes, through Chopin's re-intepration, from the Polish countryside. Eastern dances don't care so much about our western 3/4. Moreover the 'accento' are very unstable among the 3 'battuta'
