On September 24, 2007, Columbia University and its School of International and Public Affairs invited Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to speak on campus as part of Columbia University's World Leaders Forum.In response to a question about Iran's treatment of women and homosexuals, he asserted that women are respected in Iran, and stated "In Iran, we don't have homosexuals, like in your country. We don't have that in our country. In Iran, we do not have this phenomenon. I don't know who's told you that we have it."
I think what he meant was, "We don't have homosexuals...anymore."

Okay. Does anyone want proof that their is homosexual hate crimes in Iran? Check out this Youtube video: "Gay Hate Crime Faces & Stories." At 3:25 there is a picture of two homosexuals in Iran being hanged. They are, according to the video, Mahmoud Asgan (18) and Aiaz Marhoni (16), July 2005.

This video is a fake people. This is not the real translation. The real translator on that day was a woman this guy has a Hebrew accent. I would encourage people to watch his whole interview.

His next lines were: "In Iran, we do not have this phenomenon. I don't know who's told you that we have it." Why would he say this? The question wasn't "we heard you allow homosexuals free expression" it was more along the lines of "why do you kill homosexuals?"

Ummm, no. I don't profess to speak Persian, Farsi, or any other middle eastern language for that matter. This is simply satire, folks--a joke. If you listen close you can hear that Mahmoud's voice is looped in the background because they were the only parts that didn't have the real translation spoken over it. If you actually translated what he says in this clip, he'd simply be saying the same sound bite over and over. I have no idea what it is.
