heihachi77, If you was smart, you wouldnt talk about shyt that you dont know about. GTPs has the capability of going 10s in the 1/4 mile easy with just a turbo, intercooler, programmed PCM ( ecu ), and such and with stock heads and internals! Stangs cant do 10s without excessive motor work, which would be overboring the block, larger high compression pistons, and/or supercharger, and the whole works.

1nasty89, you would only beat a gtp with mods, but heads up stock vs stock, the gtp would be on you head to head. A '97 GTP can beat a '97 stang on stock form. So of course if you had a cam and heads on the 302 it will take on stock gtps. Try going against modded GTP and you will think otherwise. Its just sad that the GTPs are like the little sister of the Trans Ams, and it still can take on the stangs. GTP is a better car compared to mustangs period.

Mustangs are overrated. People dont realize the potential these cars have. Dont get me wrong i love american muscle, but i know a better car when i see one. The GTPs and the Buick GS with the supercharged series II motor are like the front wheel drive versions of the 80s Grand Nationals. And if you know about the Grand Nationals, then you do know that Grand Nationals have a v6 turbo motor that eats Stangs all day. They're not to be taken lightly. mustang1985gt, take a stock '97 stang and a stock '97 GTP, have them both race head to head, the GTP will win. The GTP weighs heavier then the stangs, but still are able to kick their azz. And yea mustangs can do 10s with stock bottom end, but if you compare the amount of money you'll be spending to do 10s in the stang compared to the GTP, you'll be spending double to get that Stang up and rolling to do those times. GTP is cheaper, safer and more reliable.
