no the song wasnt meant to be funny. The singer was known to be a homophobic. He was so homophobic that in the song They Saved Hitlers Cock he almost refused to sing the line "they buried it in my backyard" because he thought people would think he was gay...time has passed and who knows maybe his views have changed...but back then he was highly homophobic
