Well to be more accurate, Shorinji Kenpo is a gendai (modern Japanese martial art) mixing the technics the creator (Doshin So) learned during his stay in China and the Japanese technics he learned in his home land. And indeed, Shorinji means Shaolin Temple in Japanese ( 少林 = Shorin = Shaolin = Little forest, and 寺 = Ji = Temple)
