Gamers and PS3 fans have a lot to celebrate. Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) is announcing a new, 80GB model of its PLAYSTATION3 (PS3). At the same time, the company is reducing the price of the existing 60GB PS3 model.
Beginning in August, the new 80GB PS3 model will be available in North America for a suggested retail price of $599 and will be sold with the popular online-enabled racing game MotorStorm. The current 60GB system will now retail for $499, $100 less than the original launch price

is expected to appeal to the online gaming and entertainment enthusiast, by providing more storage space to download more games and other entertainment content from the popular PLAYSTATION Network.
Since PS3 launched last November, the company has been able to capitalize on increased production
efficiencies which has resulted in reduced costs that are now being passed on to consumers. The company expects this latest price move to fuel demand for PS3 even further.
Throughout the holidays and this fiscal year, more than 130 first and third-party software titles will be available to PS3 us
ers. Key upcoming titles include Heavenly Sword, Grand Theft Auto IV, Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, SingStar, Devil May Cry IV, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Warhawk.
Additional games and services will also be available through the PLAYSTATION Network including PlayStation Home—a state-of-the-art gaming community that serves as a meeting place for PS3 users around the world—as well as numerous downloadable games.
