This video is from The Song Remains The Same, and the piece is played between a guitar solo and Jimmy Page's famous violin bow solo in the song Dazed and Confused. I don't know if it has a name but it sure is brilliant, enjoy!

This sounds so damn good, I don't know what other word to use. It's so mellow, but so hard and crunchy with some of the guitar, and so. damn. sexy. Seriously, when I watch this, I blush a little bit. I wish I could play this on my guitar. I blame this footage for my Jimmy Page crush. So damn good!

My friends and I used to go see this as a movie almost every Saturday night at the midnight showing. I used to know every gesture, guitar lick, drum hit, and we still couldn't get enough. In my opinion, nothing beats watching this on the giant movie screen with your friends and a belly full of beer...and hoping you could pick up some hottie who also loved Zep almost as much as I did....ah those were the good 'ol days for sure!

Does anyone notice that this bit is two performances edited together? In the beginning, John Paul Jones is wearing some sort of flashy top, with lots of sparkle, but fast forward (about 1:30) and see: he's wearing a white blouse. And, Robert Plant sings the second "if you're going to San Francisco" line differently here than on the album. Where is this footage from? The Song Remains the Same or something else? Watching this about 50 times, I've started noticing this! Still damn good though.

yes, it's edited. and you can see at 0:52, the footage is not what you are earing. The guys who were filming, were high, they forgot to change the tapes, etc, so they had to edit the whole movie. during the solo fo whole lotta love, he's playing the ice tea guitar, 10 seconds later, he's playing the red one =D. but this is my favourite movie ever, for sure.

supposedly, the editors didn't think the band looked very enthusiastic at different parts of the show, so they spliced footage of different nights played at the garden together, but its still the song remains the same, and yes it is different than the album SRTS, but its still all good lol

FYI- this is from the Led Zeppelin dvd/video "The Song Remains The Same"...they were preforming "Dazed and Confused" when Jimmy Page decided to to break off into an extreme cover of "San Francisco" by Scott Mackenzie...they lyrics aren't 100% accurate...and obviously the guitar, bass and drums are improvised...that being said you can find out any remaing questions on your own. Awesome tune...enjoy...and happy hunting.
