I'm speechless...The 3 Tenors are so amazing. Individually they each sing this aria without flaw.

I think you are desperate, why have you wasted four comment spots of this with spam, Theinquisitive4ever was pointing out the flaws in this piece, which is fair enough, this piece technically isn't perfect. It was however one of his last before undergoing cancer treatment, and for that reason it is special.

Not as desperate as he is. he's everywhere wanting everyone to agree with him and putting carreras as the bad guy.
It doesn't matter ...( 1 month ago by Mooorhe)
It doesn't matter what he thinks, if you enjoy Carreras's music, then listen to it. Don't let someone else influence your interests. Carreras was and still is a good singer, so i can certainly understand your like for him, but i recommend that you walk away from any arguments on here because they intrude on those wishing to comment on the videos.

Carreras still has ...( 1 month ago by libro07)
Carreras still has it here. There always is a bit of strain in the upper register with his voice, but he still has command of it here. This is shortly before leukemia treatments began to take effect - it is the latter more than his choice of heavier repertoire, in my (medical) opinion, that darkened his voice and robbed it of its nimble elegance. In his prime, however, he was a truly worthy peer to Pavarotti, Domingo, and Aragall, indeed in many ways the most beautiful voice.

He's my favorite tenor because I like his voice so much and he always sings forward (his placement is always forward) He focuses his words and voice very well. His Nessun Dorma is the best for me, terrific voice and he finishes to a perfect climatic end to the song.

Not a bad rendition, could have been better, but I'm not complaining...he was much better in his younger days...had that di Stefano beauty to his voice but lacked a consistent upper register.

You can transpose in recitals. After all, he was capable of singing in the exact key on the other video.
Yes, you can ...( 2 weeks ago by dannymaestro)
Yes, you can transpose in recitals, but I think it ´s a kind of cheating. Concerning lieder, please don´t hesitate to find your key but arias like Nessun dorma are supposed to sing in the right key. I´ve never heard a bass-baritone for example sing starting in D-major. Typical Carreras to make it easier and cheat...

I heard Jussi Bjorling transposing this aria at his 50 ´s. I don´t think he was cheating, at that point of Jose´s career any note over an A was hard for him.

Yes, many singers, male and female, transpose arias and songs in recitals. BUT, I believe that Carreras does it more than he doesn ´t, all over his career because he isn´t confident in his technique... I have never understood why he is so big all over the world...

How he got so big all over the world?
It all started when he showed excellence from the start when he auditioned to the opera houses. So there, I answered your question. He also became famous along with pavarotti and domingo because they were friends and put up a benefit for his cancer -the 3 tenors program.

because, he sings with emotion, sincerity in his voice...it's not just about technique. Even pavarotti says that Carreras' voice is the most 'human' among the three tenors. His voice can touch the audiences...his voice color is beautiful. Remember, he was once being titled as the most elegant lyric tenor by critis.
