Here is the famous restaurant scene with Sicilian/English subtitles as far as I understood it. I appreciate any help or corrections.
***
MuffinMario helped me correcting one sentence. Here's what he wrote:
valentino, great job. I think that right before Mike turns to English, instead of saying: "do you want to play" in Sicilian, he's actually saying: "but i want that" or "ma voggiu ca" instead of "ma vu giucar". Notice that he says in English: "what i want"

la traduzione
è sbagliata, al pacino non dice "vu giocà.." (do you want to play), non c'entra niente. in realtà sarebbe "voglio che.." in siciliano. infatti poi dice "what i want" in inglese.

Valentino very good job, just at the begin , when Sollozzo says "Me dispiace" , the answer of Mike is "te saluto" that it's a kind of what are u talking abt ....go ahead .

Deniro is a subtle actor with the kind of depth that is seldom seen. It takes more than moving your eyes about wildly to equal Deniro talent. Pacino did a fine job in this role but he could never embody the characters as deeply as Deniro did.

i'd have to disagree. deniro is great whenever he's holding scorsese's hand, without it. ever see the last tycoon or 1900? he works in pretty much two dynamics throughout. and this is the 70s when he's considered in his prime. you couldn't find one mediocre performance from pacino in the 70s to early 80s. remember deniro auditioned for michael corleone.

Great scene but I forgot something (been awhile) he had his jaw wired shut because he was roughed up by that cop at the table, but didn't he order some food at the restaurant before this scene began? They mention a dish that is supposed to be excellent there etc..
My other favorite scene is when the flower guy holds his ground outside the hospital giving the impression there were people protecting the Godfather when in fact there were none.
