I'm sorry, but no. There were no really good bands in the 90's. There wasn't even one that was just OK. You will never see a decent rock band again.
Of course there is the component of taste, but time will sort out the lack of enduring value in everything created in the last 25 years. Rock begins with the Beatles and ends with Hardcore. By 1983 it was all over.
P.S. I mean *Rock*. Rock and roll* will always exist as a static form like the blues.

Yes, of course. Nirvana was great like early Dylan. Green Day were great like the Sex Pistols in 1977 (and more original). I swear I have never heard anything better than "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Ever. It makes Like A Rolling Stone, Nowhere Man, London Calling, and I Can See for Miles seem somehow... dull.

What is interesting is that you could actually hear them. You can hear Ringo's drums too. amazing. I guess the Germans was smart & polite enough not to scream during the performance. This is why they stopped playing live. They could not hear themselves. This was before super powerful PA systems. I saw Depeche Mode once and it was horrible because the girls screaming drowned the band out. Horrible. A great performance by The Beatles and George was awonderful person.
