wow indeed! i cannot count how many times i rolled my eyes whilst watching this wee bit o propoganda. my favorite scene was mom lining up her 5(!) sons and having them remove their pants right in front of her as she thriftly forced them into hand-me-down mode with their trousers! woman american is a phrase i have never heard, and as i recall, valium was very popular back then, which may be why everyone in this film seems to be in some sort of trance. 5 stars

I have no idea exactly what the point of this film was. I noticed it was made by the Chevrolet people in 1962, and indeed all the cars were chevys, but it didn't appear to be an advertisement. Nor did it really have any educational value. Anyhow, there isn't a whole lot of quality color footage from the early 60s, and that alone makes it noteworthy.

What was weird was the canned meat on the shelves Canned EEL? 25 Cents? What monster mother fed the family EEL? I see the American Woman as the glue holding the family & kids together, but if her Husband was making the money in those decades, why on Earth would she frown on a vaction, especially for two? Doesn't she understand HE was giving her a gift of FREEDOM from the boring chores? That was strange too.

álgico! Interessante ver como as pessoas pensavam, viviam em família...Jovens sem maldades, mulheres modernas para aquela época - 1962. É sempre bom relembrar o passado, principalmente quando os acontecimentos foram inesquecíveis!
