That's from Eurovision (2002, like they say in the Clip, it was in Talinn). It's the national final of Germany. They didn't win, they were 4th, the 1st was Corinna May, that finally was in the international show (she already won once in 1999 but was disqualified).

This voting was such a fake!!! I tried to vote for them whole the time but I couldn ´t get through the line. Then I tried the number for Corinna...and I got through! There had been something wrong with the telephonline. I heard the same story from a lot of fans a week later! Come on...they became fourth, after New Generation who were worse a thousand times! Anyway...Maite really s ounds out of breath...Last time I watched it I didn´t recognise! But meanwhile she became a better singer in my eyes!

you're right, she is not a great singer, but none of them is really. what makes this song so touching is it's authencity. there performance is honest, and she's performing it in such a emocional way that you believe in what she talks about.
