berks county is the most biased, ignorant, self righteous, money hungry agency in the state. nothing but horror stories from everyone. they let the real monsters keep their kids and shit upon the honest loving parents.

I hope/pray the Brynmawr77 isn't a caseworker because w/an attitude/opinion like that, I would hate to work with him or her. Only those of us that have been mistreated by children and youth (lancaster county) understand the pain and horror of dealing w/a government agency that has a HUGE turnover rate and "lay" personal parent trainers. We have to do something.

I was one and went beyond just a caseworker because I did my job and tried to help families, but when you are dealing with so many parents who take NO responsibility ur attitude changes.Parents get so much help to get their kids back and yet still dont and then act like its the counties fault. they think they r entitled to getting things that everyone else has to get through working & being good people. get ur lazy ass off the couch, get a job, put down the crack pipe, & take some birth control.

FYI:in order to "take" a child there needs to be a court order & a judge needs to agree as well as the child's lawyer at court so don't blame the entire thing on children & youth.the system is not perfect by any means,but there are good workers that go above and beyond to help families when the families just don't take any responsibility.oh,and by the way,I have a masters in SW from one of the best schools in the state,I've held a higher position than just a caseworker & i do have kids.

I want to see one social worker try to help the biological family you and I know that is the biggest pile of crap i've ever heard of....nice try on defending your situation...in realizing the system isn't perfect you should be a little more curtious to those hurting and missing their children....don't classify everyone a loser cause from what i understand CYA is the one making mistakes costing money guess you'll have to snatch more children for your grants and paychecks:)

It only gets worse for our family. The stress of dealing w/this agency has been unreal. We have been through 6 caseworkers...there is NO protocal. Two years into our case, yes, two years (all we've gotten is a lousy "I'm sorry, the caseworker didn't do his job and he is no longer w/us) they want to continue to dig, and dig, and dig. I tell everyone at our church, the kid's schools, etc., because I NEVER imagine our family would be going through this, no one is SAFE!!

This is such awesome news because I have desperately wanted to do the same thing. I even envision billboards screaming "ARE YOU BEING HARASSED BY CYS??? CALL US, WE CAN HELP"LOL! Its a very sad situation. I can't not imagine how I would be getting through this w/o my family's support and I know most people don't have that! We went to court last month, had to return yesterday (I don't want to identify ourselves yet),and we have to go back the 12th. Our case was continued each time (insufficient time). I am begging someone from the press to come to our next hearing. So far we have spent over $20,000 trying desperately to get this corrupt agency out of our lives. Of course the most negative testimony came from their uneducated employees. All of the therapists spoke very highly of our family.
