I have never been through heroin withdrawals, but I have had the delerium tremens, went into seizures, from going through withdrawals due to alcohol, what he is describing is basically the same idea, maybe he didn't go into seizures, but cold turkey is a scary idea, I wouldn't know first hand what a junkie does due to cold turkey, but I know its not a pleasant feeling. I have had the ambulance at my house 5 times in the past year due to me quitting alcohol, I have hallucinated even.
