Six Tibet independence activists from the UK, US, and Canada (1) were detained today after rappelling from the top of the Great Wall of China with a 450-square foot protest banner reading "One World, One Dream, Free Tibet 2008" in English and Chinese. The dramatic action took place on the eve of the one-year countdown to the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Tibet advocacy groups assert that China is attempting to use the 2008 Games as a tool to legitimize its illegal occupation of Tibet. Chinese authorities removed the activists after two hours; their current whereabouts are unknown.

I admit I have not been to Beijing, but I know smog (not mist) when I see it. As for Chicago, I can see the athlete saying that, its pretty bad there as well. As for the 'Indians' they prefer Native, or First Nations where I come from. I agree what the white man did was horrible, but things have changed here; they can live where they want, say what they want, practice whatever religion they want and work where they want. Can you say that about the members of Falun Gong?

As 4 native in canada, if u feel dat white shud b forgiven as they've made life better for natives, why cant u feel d same 4 chinese gohmen dat build Hospital, schools & freed 95% of population fr being slaved? Do you expect the athletes to wear masks while they are running or cycling? we weren't even talking about Tibet, you brought that out of nowhere (it may be the video where we are debating, not what was being discussed) I agree old Tibet's serfdom way of ruling was poor, and medieval. I would like to see some proof that "95% of Tibetans were slaves" I am not 'against China' I just don't personally approve of their government (like many people) Is there some dark side to Falun Gong I should know?

Ok.. the air quality in china is so bad, that 1.3 billion chinese is going 2 die soon.. Happy? I came fr country outside dat use t b under threat from chinese communist regime. Back then(70's) the communist is = devil. N i, 2; hate chinese gohmen like u. But after i stayed there >6 mths (1998) n get 2 know their ppl n their views 2ward their gohmen.. i slowly change my perception. 2day i have d highest respect 4 chinese n singapore's top leaders!! On falun gong, there are more buddhist, christian and muslim than falun gongers, why chinese communist want to singled them out? why not others? Have u ever even try to find out Y? I don't think that 1.3 billion people will die... that is an exaggeration, but I bet parts of China, like Beijing have a high number respiratory problems compared to most other cities. Communists aren't the devil, it is just a system that has never worked well, due to how corrupt some humans can be. If you feel it is working in China, then that is ok. I have not read or heard anything bad about Falun Gong, so could you tell me about their destructive disturbances?
