Audra McDonald, Patti LuPone and Anthony Dean Griffey star in Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny from LA Opera, a new production of one of the great 20th century operas. Tune in to PBS' GREAT PERFORMANCES series (check local listings) for this savage and lyrical satire told in a blend of opera and raucous music hall songs. Tony Award-winner John Doyle (Company) directs.

i saw this production and although anthoney dean griffey and audra mcdonald did a great job in this amazing Weill/Brecht opera.. this production was aweful mainly due to john doyles aweful directing and oring ass production and to patti lupones disgusting performance
