Part 1 of 2.
This represents several months of work. I have taken Georges Melies' 1902 classic film "A Trip to the Moon" (Une Voyage dans la Lune), the first science fiction film ever produced, and dubbed on an original soundtrack! If I get a good enough reception I might make tracks from this piece available
... Sorry I couldn't make the audio quality a little better for YouTube. The music is inspired by a number of artists from the early days of electronica, including Kraftwerk, Vangelis, and even Rick Wakeman. So yeah... I took a 104 year old film and made it into a music video for my own experiment
s in electronic music. Feedback appreciated! The soundtrack is included (along with several other tracks) on the album "Taa Daa!", released by Fox Allen on Lulu.com. Buy it at: http://www.lulu.com/content/677680

I never understand why these silent films are fitted with digital sounds and music. It takes away the feal of a turn of the century era. There should be a track of Piano or orchestra music with a score that existed in 1902 or prior.

I for one, would rather have this modern techno version than the original, with an annoying Frenchman always telling you what you already know. Ya! They have that kind here, and its all in one part!!

It's silent, there's no Frenchman saying anything in this film. I'm just talking about music.

no, no, I'm not talking about this one. There is a version on this site, where it is in one part. The music is a piano type of the early twentieth century, but there is a French voice that always interrupts the music telling you what you already inferred.. Sorry for the mixup...:(

George himself is in this film! He's the one wearing the cape withe stars, the sun, and a moon! Guy's, the first movie in Paris was "A Train Pull into the Station". And, when the train started to pull in, the audience fainted because, they've never seen something like it! What's more is that George M. was the first to figure out that movies don't have to be about everyday things, they can be about anything! Before becoming a movie master he was a Magician with an Automaton. George Meilies.
