I don't think that your unusually emphatic request will be heeded by the Puppini Sisters, as they're quite happy with the extra oomph of their arrangement. Like you, I am also a fan of the Andrews Sisters original version. But I wouldn't have posted this one if I didn't like what they've done with it.

They're amazing, but I agree. It seems like they're running just a hair too fast. It's distracting. But they are outstanding musicians to be able to maintain the tight harmony at warp speed like that.

Actually, much of the music of the '50s was packed with sexual and political innuendo. But that doesn't really apply here because the music of the Puppini Sisters belongs to the '40s. By the time the '50s rolled around, there were hardly any big band orchestras left, let alone three part close harmony combos.

Hate to break it to you, but the music of the 30s and 40s was always packed with sexual innuendo, and rather overt references to drugs. They just did it a bit classier than what you hear on the radio today. This song, however, is as sweet and innocent as it sounds - it's about joining the army and fighting overseas.
