Thanks for posting. Not sure Parkinson had the right, after Welles saying how he wouldn't & couldn't sum himself up, to sign off decribing him as unfortunately possessing the talent for self-destruction. WHo is he to sum up Welles in this neat package?

Many thanks for posting this interview. I have been a fan of Mr. Welles since I was a child and this is probably one of the better interviews I think I've seen. Also, having always lived in the states I am becoming a big fan of Mr. Parkinson and his interviews. A great interviewer at the top of some of the best. I don't know that I would've known of him if not for the clips here on YouTube. Thanks again.

what an interesting man. I would say some of his films were a little dry for me, but I would say he had a great intellect and power of analysis.
More like this please, excellent to see Parky's early stuff - chat shows today are just ridiculous, they just talk about celebrity incidents and superficial tripe. Finally some interviews with some substance!

I will only say there is nothing self-destructive about Orson Welles. This is a man who lived a life that would take me 10 lifetimes to accomplish! He truly lived!
