Jacob Soboroff is in Iowa to get as many presidential candidates as possible answering the Why Tuesday? Candidate Challenge. In first get of the trip, Jacob caught up with Texas Congressman Ron Paul at a rally for his presidential campaign at the Iowa State Historical Museum in Des Moines.

Good question. It's a bit off beat though. What was most interesting I think was that he listened to each question and answered it direectly. He votes with carefull thought and appreciates a paper trail to validate his choice.
It is what his campaign is all about; freedom to choose and personal responsibility for making that choice.

See Ron Paul wins elections... he's a 10th term congressman. Why would he change the system, that works for him? -- besides the fact that at federal level its a whole new level... and you have the fraud from previous elections..

There's already TOO MUCH meddling by the National government in state election affairs. It's the reason that the 17th Amendment passed so easily - people were duped by the National government into believing that more "democracy" was a good thing.

Because the money has already been apropriated. If he doesn't find a way to return it to his district, then it'll get pumped into other federal projects or other earmarks. The money's already gone by the time earmarking goes around, Dr. Paul is just voting on ways to spend what has already been agreed upon to be spent.

i have to say that I was disappointed by RP's apathy in this case - think this issue is critical for freedom and it blew my mind at how nonchalant he was. BUT, for him, for understanding the constitution and being eloquent up to this point, I will give him a pass. but dare i say that his slip is on the record.

Glad I'm not the only one who knows ALL congressmen must do this to get projects such as road repair done in their district. If Congressman don't put in their "2 cents" for earmarked funding, the money will be taken by their fellow politicians. It's B.S. but, that's our current govt. at work!

I wouldn't say he was apathetic at all... He is probably the person most concerned with getting ALL the cotes counted as he clearly has the largest following...which will predictably be attacked in many different ways similar to the 2004 elections...He has many more things to get excited about. he was succinct..which is not common among politicians...but HE is a STATESMAN..not a politician. Viva la Difference'.

that question shouldn't be asking the candidate but to the people. the CEO/Boss, do they care if their employee going to vote? If I am the boss, I will motivate my employee to go vote on that day. That is part of giving something back to the community should already mention in the business plan.

ACLU Sues Over Paper Ballots in Ohio CLEVELAND - The American Civil Liberties Union asked a federal judge on Monday to block the March 4 presidential primary in Ohio's biggest county if it switches to a paper ballot system that doesn't allow voters to correct errors.
