Well every one has an opinion and they are entitled to it. I saw The Sparrow Quartet two days ago at the great Vancouver Island Music Fest. The weekend was filled with lots of wonderful stuff but these musicians were the freshest sounding and most inspirational to me followed closely by Jerry Douglas. SQ kept my attention throughout and made me want to purchase their CD. Alas, it was sold out by the end of their performance.

I just discovered a great band THE DOORS. I don't like his screaming though. Gosh is he sexy. Sensual. If you look at his videos you will see how sensuous this man is and his voice is not sterile. I love sensuality. No women or men seem to be sensual in the music industry. Their hick music could move a cow to a bowel movement.

No sexy or gorgeous people have been in the entertainment industry since Jim Morrison of THe Doors. He is still alive on a ranch in Oregon. I love sensuality, his voice could swoon any woman or gay man to tears or worse. These people could move a cow to ejaculate.

This comment reminded me of Frank Zappa saying that men attend concerts for the music, but women (and perhaps gay men and cows?) show up for the sex thrills. As for Ms. Washburn's quartet: excellent musicianship, but a trifle "artsy-fartsy" -- sort of like Gillian Welch singing and picking banjo with the O'Connor/Ma/Meyer "Appalachia Waltz" trio, it comes off as more studied than soulful, more intellectual than authentic. Abigail surrounded by virtuosi is nice, but it's also gilding the lily.

I kind of disagree with needing to be sexually turned on through music, but I see the point of enjoying sensual music, not to be sexual moved but moved in the emotional sense. The Sparrow quartet is neither sensual, soulful or intellectual. They may move a cow to fall asleep. Jim Morrison had a 149 IQ, was gorgeous, literary, poetic and Abby and Bela are Joe Schmoe down the street. The other two are John Doe.

One more thing, Jim Morrison had a gorgeous voice. Abigail is not a lily. She is crud. Her voice is grating, annoying and ugly.
I don't want to say she is ugly, but compared to what is truly out there, I think she should shovel cow manure as a career, since she is neither smart of pretty. Bela is neither as well. The other two are john doe.

This music lacks authenicity because Abigail does not have a beautiful voice deserving of national attention. She is fake and Jim Morrison had a gorgeous voice and was more interested in beauty, poetry, and now is on a horse farm with his horses. Abby and Bela etc..are seeking fame, money and the big boys. They are not humble and don't revere truly gifted people in todays world. They detest really gifted people in todays world and want to get all the attention without being genuine, real, honest

I think the Sparrow Quartet lacks quality vocals and orginality. They lack creativity.
they are big-headed and greedy. Forresto, just because you think Dweshis is nuts and dumb, doesn't make it so. You might be talking about yourself.

Incredible band. Each and every one of them are amazing individually. People saying they are just rich big headed egotistical name droppers are being ridiculous. Have you ever met/seen them live? They're all incredibly modest and intelligent people. Comparing Abigail's voice to Jim Morrison is a bit out of context wouldn't you say? Well, that's my opinion anyway. I think they are astonishing, dexterous and honorable people and I can't get enough of this crazy quartet!

One more thing... Abigail didn't even set out to be a musician, she planned to live in Bejing and study law.. She got offered a record deal when back in the U.S and decided to go along with it. A few years later now, people are mad about her and the quartet! Not much of a fame seeker if you ask me...
