Book list! (And medical school advice)
This is an intro to great books on medicine.
If you want to read something fun, informative about medicine, I've put together a short list of recommended books. But also, for those who are applying to medical school, this summer reading list should be a fun place to start -- and also should help you with your medical school essay and interview.

These are some further books recommended by Youtuber Jason Pitcher. He wrote:
"Planning a Life in Medicine" by The Princeton Review. This book is one of the basics that discuss th e steps towards making it into medical school and fully details the areas one should focus on to prepare for such a venture.
"Med School Confidential" by Robert H. Miller & Daniel M. Bissell,M.D. This book, too, details and outlines the steps for an undergraduate to take to make it into medical school and succeed as a medical student.
"The Intern Blues" by Robert Marion, M.D. This particular piece details three interns (post-med school) and the trials and tribulations they face in the pediatric wards as they work towards surviving their first year as doctors.
"Emergency Doctor" by Edward Ziegler. A work that describes life and experiences as an emergency physician.
"Becoming a Doctor" Melvin Konner, M.D. This is probably one of my favorites as it shows the reader the journey to becoming a doctor as a 33 year old man who already had created a life for himself, yet decides he wants more than the life he has worked so har d to achieve.
Now.. I know most of these do not give advice as to how to make it into medical school or even through it, but I love these books because they show the reader exactly what you can expect once you reach the point that you are required to actually put to show the information and knowled ge you have required in medical school.

Why Not?" by Barry Nalebuff and Ian Ayres. It doesn't apply directly to medicine, but is in the same category as "blink" or "freakonomics." It deals with the issue of innovation, and teaching yourself how to solve problems and come up wi th new ideas."

The real 'Father of Medicine' was the African multi-genius Imhotep of ancient Egypt, not Hippocrates who lived 2000 years later The symbol of the medical profession, the caduceus (a winged staff entwined by two serpents), was the insignia found on his temples. Imhotep temples in fact were the f
irst hospitals known to man.
I think I won't hesitate to read Sherwin Nauland's book 'Doctors'. I have read his book 'How we live', I still have to read 'How we die' :P I'm kinda lazy
