nothing compares to this. Most of today's bands start off strong then fail so miserably it is hard to even look at them.
now zeppelin had a very powerful start. and kept it. there were armies of critics against Zeppelin, but Zeppelin never quit. The 4th album proved that the music sells itself, not the band.

Trust me, the Beatles are no pussies, they produced some real rockers aswel, some heavier than others, see Helter Skelter, I Want You (She's So Heavy),Yer Blues, Everybody's Got Something To Hide, I've Got a Feeling, Revolution - honestly I'd be here all day, and they really do also do alot of softer, really beautiful tracks too, don't let the old mop-top image mislead you.
They were the masters, but I seriously love and appreciate Led Zeppelin, don't get me wrong.

i'll be honest, i'm not entirely familiar with the beatles work but i think i know enough to say that they were nowhere near the caliber of musicians as the guys from led zeppelin were, so when you say 'they were the masters', i suspect you don't mean of music because that certainly isn't the case

As much as I love Led Zep, The Beatles based on musical talent, as in the composing of albums, artistic achievement, are easily up to the same standard.
The way they developed, evolved, explored in such a small amount of time was amazing, they changed popular music forever in a big way, and I think most who have a real decent knowledge of them would agree.
I am very thankful for both bands, they both enrich my life in different ways, as much as eachother.
